Thank you again for today’s session. As I said in the chat, I found it really interesting and enlightening. I really think it will help me reduce my stress levels at work.

I recently had a coaching session with Marcus to help me transition my GTD task list from Outlook to OneNote. I really enjoyed the session. Marcus is an excellent coach who immediately made me feel at ease, even though it was our first meeting and conducted via Teams. Marcus listened attentively to understand my issues and was very clear in clarifying and reminding me about aspects of the GTD system that I had forgotten or wasn’t implementing properly. I appreciated that he challenged me to think critically about my approach and reminded me of the importance of clearly defining my next actions and projects during the Clarify step, which I hadn’t been doing consistently. Although I still have some work to do, I now feel much more confident in using OneNote effectively and have greater confidence in my system. I would highly recommend Marcus as a coach for anyone needing a refresher or looking to embed their learning after completing the GTD course.

This was a real 'penny drop' moment. The system is really intuitive and changed how I managed my actions immediately. I feel more control of my projects (in work and personally), on top of actions, and the weekly review means I feel a lot more in control of my diary. It takes discipline to block out the time each day to capture and clarify actions, but I enjoy this part of my day and feel it sets me up to be productive. I would highly recomment this method to anyone who feels they could improve how they manage their life.

GTD came to me at just the right time in my life and has been the technique that has kept me going and saved me from drowning under work pressures during a difficult year. I still have much more to learn, but with the encouragement, realism and support of the coaches and instructors (no blind evangelism here), I am confident that life can and will be different, thanks to the GTD approach. I look forward to my next steps along the journey.

When I was first offered GTD training I didn’t initially realise that I had a problem that needed solving. I came along because I’m always happy to try something new. The training helped me understand what my problems with workflow were, and offered simple solutions for them. A few years on, I can say that doing the course has had a huge and positive impact on my life. It’s helped me achieve things professionally that I didn’t think I could, while also helping me sleep well at night. Maintaining the consistency with it can be hard work, and sometimes I fall off the wagon, but I have always returned to it because not doing it is actually harder than when I do.

After 6 years into my GTD journey, being self taught and having sat a fundamentals workshop, I felt I was at a reasonably good level with my GTD practices. However I sensed there was more to learn. After a few conversations with Next Action Associates, I decided to jump in and see what would happen on a one to one coaching course!I found Robert was quick to access, not just my understanding of GTD, but my learning style, which was very encouraging from the outset to find that Robert could skilfully navigate the fastest and most value adding way through the course. I found from each coaching session there was a wealth of tweaks and changes made to rebuilding my GTD system.A month down the road after completing the one to one with Robert, I feel like this is one of the best things I have ever done, and would highly recommend installing GTD in your professional and personal life.

GTD is a big part of my day (Personal & Business). I certainly wouldn't have been able to launch & run my handbag business single handedly without the help of it! It allows me to organise my lists & emails into priority, as well as subject, which is hugely helpful when you are trying to be the designer, website builder, photographer, researcher, events coordinator and run the social media of your company. You learn how to do about 10 peoples jobs when you start your own business, and that means juggling a lot of to-do lists! GTD has allowed me to build my business without the stress of feeling out of control, and it has kept me on track, knowing I will hit my goals in the timeframe I have.

I put my whole team through the GTD course, and they said it was one of the most useful things they’d ever done. I was already a huge fan of GTD, and I was getting frustrated that projects were slipping, and we didn’t seem to have a common language and systems around the business in terms of delivery and priorities. The GTD methodology and course provided us with the basis to do this.

I didn’t really know what to expect with this seminar - I knew that it worked for my Deputy Director and that she was still using the principles several years later, so I was intrigued to see what it would be all about.Having taken the seminar, I can say that it’s changed the way I work pretty much completely. To clarify and organise my inbox and have control of my inbox and my tasks is a great way to stay on top of my workflow. That helps me to stay more able to focus on what needs to be done right now, safe in the knowledge that my other work (and those things that pop into my brain randomly through the day) is under control and that I will not forget and will get to it when the time is right.I loved that we put the learning into practice during the session too – it reinforces what we were learning and gave me real time results. I thoroughly recommend this course.

Interesting piece, thank you. Another dimension which I know you have covered with the collective is the aspect of living the training experience. As a member of the collective, I have found some noticeable improvements in my GTD approach through the videos. A question here or comment there in bite size chunks is making the difference for me.

The GTD coaching I received helped me far more than I had expected. Whilst reading the book helped me understand the concept and recognise the benefits, the coaching took the understanding further into practical implementation. The frustrations I had before with feeling unable to fully transform my understanding into practise, was completely overcome when I started coaching.Furthermore, it actually gave me a greater understanding as I had a coach to talk through specific details and examples, which of course I couldn’t get from reading the book alone. The GTD coaching has significantly improved not only my productivity, but also my feeling of being in control of both managing day to day demands, and turning desired outcomes into realty. Because of these improvements for me personally, I recommended GTD coaching and specifically Miles Seecharan (my GTD coach) to my Operations Director, who recently commenced GTD coaching with Miles.I’m now also looking forward to being on the same wavelength with my team when we’re working together.

I've always been into organisational methods, and I'd been learning about GTD for a while. However, being trained by Marcus Ramtohul made a world of difference - I was finally able to overcome that fear of creating a "someday/maybe" list and I finally understood the power of putting everything down in writing. I'd also never fully finessed my own personalised GTD "system". But, after being trained in the fundamentals of GTD by Marcus, I got it. I'm very happy with it now. Thank you Marcus!"

The GTD coaching was fantastic. It has totally transformed my personal and professional effectiveness, given me clarity of thought, and hugely reduced the stress and anxiety I was feeling a few months ago. Based on the benefits I’ve had I think there would be huge synergies if everyone around me was practicing GTD, so I’m now working on getting my team trained.

The coaching worked very well for me. I have used a version of GTD for some time and found it helped me a lot. However, I am self-taught, and have often struggled with some of the concepts, much of which are based off GTD. Our sessions have helped clarify and crystalise an approach which has greatly improved my productivity. In summary, I got out exactly what I wanted, and more, from the training we completed together. I found your approach instructive, your guidance clear, you adapted to questions/situations and your demeanour is calm and reflective (just what is needed to reinforce the ‘control of your circumstances and work’ philosophy).I would recommend GTD coaching to others.

This is really challenging to achieve without a personal productivity methodology that allows one to organize the workflow so you can focus on the right things at the right times.THANK YOU Todd Brown and Next Action Associates for equipping our #LeadershipAcademy participants with practical personal productivity tools like #2minuterule and #WaitingForList that will allow them to focus on achieving greater impact for #SpecialOlympics.

After a 2 year period of 'toying' with GTD I understood its power but I wasn't wielding it in the intended way in order to maximise the benefit. Then, after hearing there was going to be an unexpected addition to our family, my immediate thought was the need to accelerate my quest for being organised and on the ball. I run a creative agency and also recently took on another healthcare business so was under a great deal of pressure and a third child would only increase the pull on my time.Miles is a great coach. He has a deep level of understanding of GTD and how it can be applied to every aspect of life and to any situation. He took the time to understand where I was with GTD and what my needs were, and he also has a relaxed and easy manner to his training which helped immensely. Following each of the coaching sessions I felt motivated and confident about practicing what I had just learnt and I would highly recommend him. Indeed, I have already recommended GTD to my peers and one of my senior managers.

A quick and immediate thank you for your excellent seminar today. A great balance between listening and doing, and exactly the focus I was hoping for. I also particularly appreciate the challenge you face as a trainer in enabling participants to engage, converse and feed back in a virtual environment. The use of a combination of group questions and break out rooms worked really well. It was great it was to be attending your seminar from my ‘cockpit’, with my full system and tools all at hand. A positive benefit to the virtual setup!

I've been practising GTD for about 15 years now, and it's been genuinely life changing. Thanks to GTD, I'm known for thinking clearly, being on top of things, and always delivering what I say I will (which sounds simple, but is actually a pretty high bar). My relationships have flourished as I’m able to be much more present in each interaction. All of this richness has been completely underpinned by GTD. At first GTD seemed like hard work, but the payoff has been absolutely worth it....What price a successful career and happy life?Once you get used to the suggested approach and develop your GTD habits it all becomes as easy and natural as riding a bike. But even when you are good at riding a bike, when you're riding up a steep hill it becomes tougher (life also has tough/stressful times). GTD is like the gears on your bike. If you downshift to the right gear it becomes easier again, and allows you to keep moving forward no matter what life throws at you.My suggestion? Don't get caught in the classic error of being too busy to learn how to handle busy times - when the going gets tough in my world, my GTD system comes to the rescue.Get to a seminar, get a coach or read the books - whatever works for you. Put in some effort for a bumper payout!

My background is as a Counsellor and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. I have worked in both the NHS and Private Psychiatry for almost 20 years. As I have a learning difficulty, I became increasingly aware of the need to improve my organisational skills, productivity and workflow in my job, so that I could provide the best service to my clients, who have anxiety and depression. The GTD coaching sessions with Robert, Frank, and Meg were informative, practical and insightful. Following specialised tests organised by the company, the coaching was adapted and tailor-made for my particular circumstances. During my two day assessment, Robert spent time with my supervisor to understand my difficulties from their perspective. He showed extreme patience and professionalism during the sessions, and was able to answer my questions, explain the GTD concepts and provide clear and practical instructions in how to complete the procedures. This was conducted with humour and reassurance. Now I cannot get through the week without performing the weekly review and I honestly don't know how I could cope without the GTD methodologies. I have experienced a reduction in my stress levels and an improvement in my productivity and task completion. I cannot recommend Robert and the Next Action Associates team more highly and I would not hesitate to have a conversation with them today about how their services could improve any professionals' work and life performance.

The timing of my coaching with Robert could not have been more beneficial. I was a few months into a new role as a COO that was far above the level of responsibility I have ever had in other roles. While I had spent several months working on my GTD system on my own based on the book and other resources, I was stuck and needed more support. Robert always put my needs first in how we ran the sessions so that I got the most value out of each one. He was also willing to listen to me in some vulnerable moments when I was having a tough time without being judgmental and providing solutions/ideas in the system that had immediate positive effects. As an executive coach myself, I thought this coaching would be more specific to GTD, and while this was certainly true, it was also effective as overall coaching for the situation I was in. I’ve made great advances in my GTD abilities based on this coaching. It is something that will need continued attention and development, but it is now definitely a habit that will part of both my personal and professional work for the long term. And I find it makes my work more engaging and enjoyable. I highly recommend investing in this coaching, and Robert is the coach to have if you can get him!

With the team I lead, GTD has increased our ability to handle projects at speed, while reducing the stress and strain of doing so. Having a common understanding of how we get work done, and a common language to discuss it also improved communication on the team, since – for example – many were able to immediately get the benefits of the ‘next action’ concept in their own work.

The GTD-seminar was one of the few really helpful workshops I have been to in my career. I think you made me aware of things I am doing in daily life which are not efficient or are reducing my efficiency and attention to the really important topics. Step by step, I am going to implement the new techniques, and no, I have not brought my emails to zero yet, but day by day I can reduce them a bit more – so I am getting there (one day). Nevertheless, I am astonished that I have been able to work on all my emails since Tuesday. This is a big step forward for me and gives me a feeling of winning back control over my working time.In the office, I am spreading the word, and I have interested already three colleagues who want to sign up for one of the next courses. So, again some work for you – and 20% for Mr. Allen. JThanks again for your funny, interesting and inspiring seminar! I think your personality made the difference between boring and useful & interesting!

The Getting Things Done methodology, and in particular of Next Action Associates, have been a huge help to me. I first contacted Next Action in 2013, at the recommendation of a colleague. At that time I was struggling to make sense of an increasingly demanding academic workload, and to cope with an diverse range of commitments outside my academic work. My previous attempts to develop a systematic approach had repeatedly foundered.A two-day Workflow Coaching programme (with follow-up sessions) proved transformative. I found that the GTD system met my needs for both structure and flexibility. The bespoke nature of the programme allowed me to develop systems which fitted my working preferences rather than requiring me to conform to a rigid external framework. Like learning a musical instrument, getting better and handling my workflow has required sustained application, motivation and patience. Although the system itself is both practical and intuitive, customising it for my own work needed an expert tutor.

Todd and Robert, I hope you both are doing well! Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that your podcast on GTD is amazing. In the past year I got away from my GTD practice and suffered because of that. I made a commitment to myself to get back on track by reading GTD for teens with my 9 year old son as a refresher and also decided to listen to your podcast. I ended up downloading every episode going back to 2015 and am basically binge listening to all of them as if you were a great Netflix show lol. Thank you again for producing the show, it is really helped me get back on track!

I need to do more weekly reviews but I can safely say that this has had such a positive effect on my life already!- My work inbox is clear and well organised into who the task relates to- The mind sweep has kept my head clear of distracting small tasks which instead I capture and calendarise straight away- I’m moving flats this week and my housemate has been blown away about how I’ve organised the van, boxes, cleaners, deposits, packing etc all thanks to the GTD system in my Evernote! Whenever he has a question on furniture or cleaners I have a link and next step for him within seconds. Thanks so much again, worth its weight in gold and I’ve passed him over one of the books!

Great stuff, very inspiring!I like the way you break the year up and give insights into what is valuable to me now and what is good preparation for busy times ahead. I wonder a lot about whether I am enjoying the present enough at times, you know, carpe diem, am I spending my energy wisely, am I not procrastinating again... Your talks about what to take into consideration and get done to free up time to enjoy are very much appreciated! I admire the way you put in so much information into 20 minutes, too. There's always theory, practice, implementation tips, and a great summary at the end. I mean it all sounds very effortless - and I love your expression "riffing along"! But it is a neat capsule of information and inspiration.I just subscribed to your newsletter and am looking forward to new podcasts. One idea you two suggested, to talk about how many principles of GTD were already out there and are reflected in quotes from history or famous people - sounds great! Actually, it made me think of the religious calendar and how such time-honored practices probably reflect a lot of insights people before us already had in productivity principles.

Thank you so much for running the Level 1 workshop last week, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The day was well structured and I found the way you brought it all to life both helpful and engaging through practical examples and humour. Although I’ve used many of the tips and tricks of GTD for many years now, I’ve been self-taught and there’s only so much I can do to objectively assess and improve. The greatest take away from the day was to define the desired outcome for each project. This is something I have only previously considered for the really big projects. Wishing you and the team all the best, and thanks again for a wonderful day!
